Variable Aperture and Pro Controls
The variable aperture on the Main camera helps improve low-light performance while providing greater control over depth of field. At Æ’/1.48, the camera can capture more light for indoor and nighttime scenes, with Apple claiming approximately 50% better low-light performance.
Pro controls in the Camera app allow you to quickly access settings such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance, and histogram. Photographic Styles 3 adds control over texture and grain, making it possible to create a softer appearance or achieve an artistic film-inspired look.
Advanced Photo Features
On-device intelligence provides Smart Focus Tracking, allowing the camera to maintain focus on moving subjects even when they temporarily leave and reenter the frame. Spatial Reframing lets you adjust the composition of a photo after capture, while the Extend and enhanced Clean Up tools provide additional editing flexibility through Apple Intelligence.
The 18MP Center Stage front camera provides flexible framing, allowing you to switch between portrait and landscape orientations and automatically include more people in the frame.
