The Apple Mac mini is significantly smaller than its predecessor, with a compact size and lightweight design that allow for easy placement, movement, and mounting in any workspace. Equipped with the M4 10-Core chip, the Mac mini offers up to 1.8x faster CPU performance and 2.2x faster GPU performance compared to the M1 model. With 16GB of unified RAM, 256GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6E, and Thunderbolt 4, it provides strong performance in a small package. The Mac mini also features Apple Intelligence, enhancing user experience while maintaining privacy. As Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac, it has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by over 80% across materials, manufacturing, and transportation.
Built to Chill
The Mac mini’s compact design is paired with an advanced thermal architecture to maintain low temperatures. Air is efficiently directed through multiple levels of the system and flows out through the foot. Thanks to the power efficiency of Apple silicon, the Mac mini can handle demanding tasks at high speeds without overheating.
Supercharged by M4
The M4 chip delivers a significant performance boost to the Mac mini. With a faster 10-Core CPU, the Mac mini is up to 1.8x quicker than the M1 model, enhancing everyday tasks like multitasking and web browsing. The powerful GPU, built on Apple’s advanced graphics architecture, tackles more demanding workloads—such as photo editing and gaming—up to 2.2x faster than the M1 version. For the first time, the M4 chip also introduces hardware-accelerated ray tracing to the Mac mini. Equipped with 16GB of faster unified memory, the M4’s Neural Engine is now over 3x faster than the M1, making it a strong choice for AI tasks and boosting overall productivity.
Body Design
The Mac mini’s compact design saves valuable desk space, measuring just five by five inches. Its smaller form reduces aluminum use in the enclosure by 85% compared to the previous generation. Weighing only 1.5 pounds, the Mac mini is easy to move, rack, or mount in any setup.
A New Era with Apple Intelligence on the Mac
Apple Intelligence leverages the power of Apple Silicon and the Neural Engine to transform the way users work, communicate, and express themselves on Mac. Available in U.S. English with macOS Sequoia 15.1, it offers systemwide Writing Tools that help users refine their writing by rewriting, proofreading, and summarizing text across most apps. The redesigned Siri allows seamless transitions between spoken and typed requests, enhancing productivity throughout the day and answering thousands of questions about Mac and other Apple products.
New features, including Image Playground and Genmoji, will be available in December, offering fun ways to create original images and custom emojis. Siri will also become more capable, drawing on personal context to provide tailored responses and actions across the system. Additionally, ChatGPT will be integrated into Siri and Writing Tools, giving users quick access to its expertise without switching between apps.
Apple Intelligence prioritizes user privacy with on-device processing and Private Cloud Compute for more complex tasks, ensuring personal data stays secure. ChatGPT is available for free without the need for an account, and OpenAI’s privacy measures protect user information, including obscuring IP addresses and not storing requests. For those who choose to connect their account, OpenAI’s data-use policies will apply.
Ports
The Mac mini offers a range of connectivity options with three Thunderbolt 4 ports on the back, providing 40 Gb/s data throughput. It also includes an HDMI port and a Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 LAN jack. On the front, you’ll find two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Mac mini can support up to three displays simultaneously: two 6K displays at 60 Hz over Thunderbolt 4 and one 4K display at 60 Hz over HDMI. For even higher resolutions, it can drive two displays—one 5K display at 60 Hz over Thunderbolt, and either an 8K display at 60 Hz or a 4K display at 240 Hz, through either Thunderbolt or HDMI.
