100MP BSI CMOS Sensor
At the heart of the X2D II is a 43.8 x 32.9mm 100MP BSI CMOS sensor that delivers exceptional detail, smooth tonal transitions, and 16-bit color depth. Improved image processing expands dynamic range to 15.3 stops, while the native ISO range of 50 to 25,600 provides outstanding shadow recovery and highlight retention in challenging lighting conditions. Continuous shooting at up to 3 fps also makes the camera more capable when capturing moving subjects.
Hasselblad Natural Color Solution HDR
The X2D II is the first Hasselblad medium format camera to feature end-to-end HDR capture. Images can be processed directly in-camera as HDR HEIF or Ultra HDR JPEG files, allowing immediate viewing on compatible HDR displays.
Powered by Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS) HDR, the camera combines expanded dynamic range with Hasselblad’s renowned color science to preserve natural contrast while revealing greater highlight and shadow detail. Utilizing the wider P3 color gamut, HDR images benefit from up to 3 additional stops of dynamic range in-camera and up to 4 stops when processing RAW files using Phocus software.
Advanced Autofocus System
A significantly upgraded autofocus system brings major improvements in both speed and precision. The camera utilizes 425 phase-detection autofocus points across the sensor, complemented by an integrated LiDAR sensor for faster focusing in both bright and low-light environments. A built-in AF assist illuminator further improves performance when shooting in dim conditions.
New focus area options—including Expand Spot, Custom, and Wide modes—provide greater flexibility for different subject sizes and compositions.
Continuous Autofocus with AI Subject Detection
For the first time in a Hasselblad camera, the X2D II introduces Continuous Autofocus (AF-C). Powered by deep learning algorithms, the system accurately detects and tracks people, vehicles, cats, and dogs, making medium format photography more practical for portraits, events, wildlife, and dynamic commercial work.
5-Axis In-Body Image Stabilization
Designed to maximize the potential of its ultra-high-resolution sensor, the X2D II features an advanced 5-axis in-body image stabilization system that provides up to 10 stops of shake compensation.
The upgraded stabilization system is dramatically more effective than its predecessor, allowing photographers to confidently handhold the camera during longer exposures while maintaining exceptional image sharpness. Electronic compass integration through Phocus Mobile 2 further enhances stabilization consistency across different shooting locations.
Refined Body Design
The X2D II continues Hasselblad’s minimalist Scandinavian design with several ergonomic improvements. A new graphite gray finish, redesigned grip texture, and optimized internal construction reduce overall weight by approximately 7.5%, making the camera more comfortable for extended shooting sessions.

A high-resolution 5.76-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder with 1.0x magnification delivers a large, immersive viewing experience with exceptional clarity.
Built-In 1TB SSD Storage
One of the X2D II’s standout features is its integrated 1TB SSD, capable of storing more than 50,000 HEIF images while delivering blazing-fast transfer speeds of up to 2850 MB/s read and 2370 MB/s write. For additional flexibility, the camera also includes a CFexpress Type B memory card slot.
Professional Workflow with Phocus Mobile 2
The updated Phocus Mobile 2 app streamlines wireless shooting and editing workflows. Photographers can remotely wake the camera, transfer files at speeds up to 40 MB/s, and edit both standard and HDR RAW files directly on compatible iPhone and iPad devices.
The app supports exposure adjustments, Hasselblad Natural Noise Reduction (HNNR), and HNCS color processing, allowing professional-quality editing while away from the computer.
Leaf Shutter Advantage
Compatible XCD lenses feature integrated leaf shutters that enable flash synchronization at virtually any shutter speed—up to 1/4000 second, depending on the lens. The camera also supports adapted Hasselblad H-System and XPan lenses using optional adapters, with the electronic shutter providing speeds up to 1/6000 second for additional creative flexibility.
