A High-Quality Creative Companion
The Nikon Z5 II is a reliable creative partner, upgrading its predecessor with faster processing, enhanced autofocus, and superior low-light performance. With thoughtful new features like a dedicated color preset button, ultra-bright EVF, and seamless sharing capabilities, it’s an ideal step-up for creators exploring full-frame photography and video.
24.5MP FX Sensor & EXPEED 7 Processing
At the heart of the Z5 II lies a 24.5MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor, now paired with Nikon’s EXPEED 7 image processor—bringing significant improvements in speed, responsiveness, and image quality. This combination enables full-resolution continuous shooting at up to 30 fps and supports a wide ISO range of 100–64000, expandable to 50–204800, for exceptional low-light versatility. The sensor delivers smooth tonal transitions, rich detail, and clean output across all sensitivity levels.

Autofocus You Can Trust
Borrowing from Nikon’s flagship Z9, the Z5 II’s autofocus system employs deep learning algorithms for sophisticated subject detection across nine subject types—including people, animals, planes, bicycles, and more. A dedicated Bird Detection mode ensures sharp focus for wildlife photographers. In Auto-Area AF mode, subjects are automatically recognized, tracked, and maintained in focus—even during dynamic movement.
Pre-Release Capture
EXPEED 7 also powers Pre-Release Capture, a feature that records moments up to one second before you press the shutter. When half-pressing the shutter button, the camera begins buffering up to 30 fps, ensuring you never miss fleeting action.
UHD 4K Video Recording
The Z5 II enhances its video capabilities with UHD 4K recording at up to 60 fps and Full HD at up to 120 fps. Internal recording time now extends up to two hours. Video-centric tools include a self-timer, in-camera electronic Vibration Reduction, and the option to record to internal memory cards or an external recorder via HDMI. 10-bit internal recording is supported using Nikon’s N-Log and optional RED LUTs. Additional features like time-lapse creation, Product Review mode, and live streaming (UAC/UVC support) further expand its versatility.

In-Body Vibration Reduction
For both stills and video, the 5-axis sensor-shift VR system compensates for up to 5 stops of shake, or up to 7.5 stops when paired with supported lenses. Video shooters benefit from additional electronic stabilization when shooting handheld.

Color Control for Creators
A new Picture Control button on top of the Z5 II gives instant access to 31 built-in presets—even while shooting in Auto mode. These presets can now be visualized live on the rear LCD for real-time color grading. Nikon’s Imaging Cloud provides downloadable Creator Recipes developed by other photographers, letting you customize your look further.
