OM SYSTEM OM-3 Mirrorless Camera
Compact yet highly capable, the OM SYSTEM OM-3 combines flagship-level imaging performance with a design focused on creative control and everyday versatility. Built around a 20MP stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and the TruePic X processor, this camera shares much of the core technology found in the OM-1 Mark II, including fast readout speeds, advanced autofocus, and strong low-light performance. Its compact form factor makes it well-suited for street, travel, and urban photography, while still offering the speed and precision needed for more demanding applications.
Sensor and Processor
The OM-3 utilizes a 20MP stacked BSI Live MOS sensor paired with the TruePic X engine to deliver fast performance, reduced rolling shutter, and high image quality. This combination supports responsive shooting and reliable results across a wide range of lighting conditions.
Design and Creative Controls
Inspired by classic SLR styling, the OM-3 features a tactile control layout with dedicated dials for intuitive operation. A built-in creative dial enables quick switching between color and monochrome profiles, while a customizable computational photography button provides direct access to advanced features such as Live ND, Live GND, and focus stacking. This design emphasizes quick adjustments and creative flexibility in the field.
Image Stabilization
The 5-axis in-body image stabilization system provides up to 6.5 stops of compensation at the center and 5.5 stops at the corners. When paired with compatible lenses supporting Sync IS, stabilization can reach up to 7.5 stops at the center, improving handheld shooting performance in low-light and telephoto scenarios.
Autofocus System
A 1053-point Cross-Type On-Chip Phase Detection Quad Pixel AF system delivers fast and accurate focusing across the frame. AI Detection AF supports a variety of subjects, including people, birds, pets, and vehicles, while specialized modes such as Starry Sky AF assist with precise focusing in astrophotography.
Video Recording
Optimized for hybrid creators, the OM-3 supports 4K video recording at up to 60p, along with Full HD recording across a wide range of frame rates from 1 to 120 fps for slow and quick motion capture. A dedicated video dial allows seamless switching between stills, video, and S&Q modes, while improved heat management supports longer recording sessions.
OM-Cinema Mode
OM-Cinema Mode introduces a set of video color profiles designed to produce a more cinematic look, with customizable settings tailored for storytelling and professional-style video capture.
