The Sekonic SPECTROMETER C-800 is a powerful, field-ready tool designed for photographers, videographers, cinematographers, and gaffers who demand precision when working with light. Capable of reading virtually any light source—including LED, flash, incandescent, HMI, fluorescent, and natural light—the C-800 is built around an advanced CMOS linear sensor. This sensor captures light wavelengths in fine 1nm increments, enabling it to detect color spikes and inconsistencies, particularly useful when working with LED or mixed lighting environments.
Accurate, Real-World Matching with SSI Technology
One of the most groundbreaking features of the C-800 is its Spectral Similarity Index (SSI), developed by the Sci-Tech Council of the Academy. SSI allows users to compare how closely a light source matches a standard (e.g., CIE D55) or a custom reference. Alongside SSI, the C-800 includes CRI (Color Rendering Index), TLCI (Television Lighting Consistency Index), TLMF (Television Lighting Matching Factor), and TM-30-15, offering comprehensive tools for analyzing and comparing lights in both studio and on-location environments.

On-Set Functionality and Design
