Designed for today’s content creators, the Rode VideoMic GO II-H is an ultralightweight shotgun microphone that makes it easy to capture broadcast-quality audio for podcasts, livestreams, gaming, video calls, and on-the-go interviews. Featuring both 3.5mm TRS and USB-C connections, it works seamlessly with cameras, iOS/Android devices, and macOS/Windows computers. Rode’s annular line tube technology delivers highly directional, crisp sound while the included foam windshield helps reduce unwanted noise. The innovative Helix isolation shockmount minimizes handling bumps and vibrations, making it a reliable tool for creators in any setting.
Acoustic Design and Directional Pickup
Using the same acoustic design as Rode’s professional VideoMic NTG and NTG5, the VideoMic GO II-H provides rich, full-bodied audio. Its supercardioid pickup pattern focuses on sound directly in front of the mic, while reducing noise from the sides and rear. This design allows you to maintain presence and clarity, even when recording subjects at a slight distance.
Compact and Portable
At just 2.1 oz, the microphone is compact enough for mobile rigs yet powerful enough for desktop use. It’s well-suited for compact cameras, smartphones, or as a USB mic for recording directly to your computer. No batteries are required—the mic draws power via plug-in power (TRS) or bus power (USB), making it truly plug-and-play.
Plug-and-Play Simplicity
The VideoMic GO II-H has no complicated menus, switches, or setup requirements. Simply connect it to your camera using the supplied TRS patch cable or attach it to your smartphone, tablet, or computer with an appropriate Rode USB cable (sold separately). Manual gain control can be adjusted on your camera if needed.
Smartphone, Tablet & Computer Use
When connected via USB-C, the mic functions as a full USB microphone. The 3.5mm output can simultaneously serve as a headphone jack for monitoring and playback. On mobile devices, advanced controls unlock through the Rode Central app, including input gain, high-pass filter, high-frequency boost, and a -20 dB pad. With computers, the mic is fully compatible with Rode Connect, allowing up to four microphones to be used together for podcasting and livestreaming, complete with studio-grade processing.
