Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art Lens
Faster, Smaller, Sharper Wide-Angle Prime
Refining one of the most versatile lenses in its lineup, Sigma introduces the 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art. AÂ lighter, more compact, and optically enhanced evolution of its classic wide-angle prime. With a redesigned optical formula, improved autofocus system, and newly developed AAC coating, this second-generation lens delivers higher performance in a more portable form.
Ideal for photographers and filmmakers alike, it blends speed, clarity, and handling into a truly all-purpose creative tool.

Superior Image Quality
Versatile 35mm with a Bright f/1.4
The 35mm focal length remains one of the most adaptable perspectives available, offering a natural wide-angle field of view suited to landscapes, street photography, environmental portraits, documentary work, and more. The fast f/1.4 aperture excels in low-light conditions and enables shallow depth of field for strong subject isolation and expressive background blur.
Redesigned Optics & Enhanced Bokeh
The second-generation optical design delivers greater resolution and improved clarity compared to its predecessor. The construction includes:
- Four aspherical elements
- Two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements
This configuration suppresses spherical and chromatic aberrations for sharp rendering, minimal distortion, and accurate color reproduction.

By effectively correcting chromatic aberrations, the lens also produces smoother, cleaner bokeh. An 11-blade rounded diaphragm maintains circular out-of-focus highlights and contributes to natural, aesthetically pleasing background separation.
Sigma’s newly developed AAC (Advanced Amorphous Coating) incorporates a low-refractive-index amorphous layer that significantly reduces flare, ghosting, and surface reflections, resulting in improved contrast and color fidelity—even in backlit scenes.
Dual HLA Autofocus Performance
Equipped with a high-thrust dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) system, the lens delivers fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance suitable for both still photography and video production.
The floating focus system maintains consistent sharpness from the minimum focusing distance of 11″ to infinity. The updated optical layout and optimized focus group placement also reduce focus breathing, preserving a stable angle of view during focus transitions—an important advantage for cinematic video work.
Compact, Durable Design
Through refined mechanical engineering, the DG II Art is approximately 14% smaller and 20% lighter than its predecessor. Measuring about 3.75″ in length and weighing approximately 1.2 lb, it offers improved portability without sacrificing performance.
The lens is built for dependable field use with:
- Dust- and splash-resistant sealing
- Water- and oil-repellent front element coating

Intuitive Handling & Professional Control
The manual aperture ring allows direct exposure adjustments and can be de-clicked for smooth, silent iris transitions during video recording. Two customizable AFL buttons provide flexible focus control and can be assigned additional functions via compatible camera menus. A focus mode switch enables quick toggling between autofocus and manual focus.
The included petal-style lens hood features a secure locking mechanism for confident attachment.
