Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art Lens (L-Mount)
Classic Portrait Focal Length
The Sigma 85mm f/1.2 DG Art Lens combines a classic medium-telephoto focal length with an ultrafast f/1.2 maximum aperture, making it well suited for portrait photography and other applications requiring strong subject separation. Its wide aperture also provides excellent low-light performance and smooth, near-circular bokeh.
Advanced Optical Design
The lens uses a complex 17-element, 12-group optical design featuring two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements and three aspherical elements. This configuration helps minimize chromatic and spherical aberrations while maintaining high image quality. A 13-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to smooth bokeh, while the optical design is optimized to suppress focus breathing during video capture.
Fast and Precise Autofocus
A dual HLA-driven focus motor provides fast and smooth autofocus for both still photography and video. The compact design also improves agility on set, while the 85mm focal length provides a natural perspective well suited for portraits.
Compact and Durable Construction
Despite its f/1.2 aperture, the lens measures just 3.4 x 4.7″ and weighs approximately 2 lb, making it the smallest and lightest lens in its 85mm f/1.2 class. Its dust- and splash-resistant construction helps provide dependable operation in challenging environments, while the front element features a water- and oil-repellent coating.
Intuitive Physical Controls
A manual aperture ring provides direct control over exposure, with an automatic setting and convenient ring-lock button. Physical AF/MF and aperture click/de-click switches allow intuitive adjustments for photography and video. An 82mm front filter thread supports the use of compatible filters.
