Unlike traditional diffusion filters, the Pro-Mist maintains sharp image detail while imparting a gentle, pastel-like quality to the light. The 1/4 strength offers a moderate effect—stronger than 1/8 but less intense than 1/2—striking a balance between highlight control and image softness.
This filter is part of Tiffen’s Magnetic Control System (MCS), which enables fast and effortless filter changes without the need to screw or unscrew traditional filter threads. Each filter includes a magnetic mounting ring that securely attaches to the front of a lens, streamlining on-the-fly adjustments during a shoot. For added versatility, separately available MCS step-up rings adapt the system to a wide range of lens thread sizes. The filter set also includes a magnetic front cap for lens protection and a rear magnetic cap to safeguard the filter when not in use.
