AtomOS 11 Operating System

Built for the new Ninja Ultra, the AtomOS 11 operating system equips your monitor with new features along with an improved icon interface for more intuitive operation. Focus Peaking, Zoom, Atomos and ARRI False Color, EL Zone colorized exposure, Safe Areas, RecordAssist, PlayBackAssist, SegmentPro, and Cine Guides are among the many monitor assist functions available. The AtomHDR processing engine allows for real-time Log to PQ/HLG previewing.

5.2″ Touchscreen Display

The Atomos Ninja Ultra is equipped with a 5.2″ IPS touchscreen that offers a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 1000 cd/m² brightness, providing excellent visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. With 10-bit color processing, a Rec.709 color gamut, and Calibrite ColorChecker Display Pro/Plus calibration support, it ensures color-accurate and high-quality monitoring of your footage, making it ideal for precise video production and color grading.

Comprehensive Color

The Ninja Ultra supports a wide range of log formats from top camera brands, including Sony, ARRI, JVC, RED, FUJIFILM, Nikon, Panasonic, and Canon. Users can upload custom 3D LUTs to the monitor for enhanced color grading flexibility. Additionally, it supports HDR conversion to multiple formats like Log, HLG, PQ, and Dolby Vision, providing greater control over your image quality and post-production workflow.

HDMI Interface, ProRes RAW Recording

The Ninja Ultra offers robust HDMI input and output ports, capable of supporting up to DCI 4K video at 60 fps for monitoring, recording, and playback. It also supports 3.5K RAW footage at 60 fps with compatible cameras. In addition, the Ninja Ultra supports RAW recording over HDMI with over 55 different camera models, allowing for up to 8K at 30 fps recording, offering enhanced flexibility and image quality for professional productions.

AtomX Cast

The AtomX Cast expands the functionality of the Ninja Ultra, transforming it into a fully-featured, compact production studio. This add-on allows for advanced multi-input switching from up to four 1080p HDMI sources, making it ideal for live production scenarios. Additionally, users can apply graphic overlays to enhance their videos and use a USB UVC webcam output for improved web conferencing or live streaming. This makes the AtomX Cast an invaluable tool for content creators looking to elevate their production capabilities.

Optional Atomos CONNECT Module

The Atomos CONNECT module enhances the capabilities of the Ninja Ultra by providing seamless access to cloud-based workflows such as C2C, Atomos Edit, and Atomos RemoteView via Atomos Cloud Studio. This module adds 12G-SDI connectivity, AirGlu wireless timecode, and Wi-Fi 6, along with GigE Ethernet, expanding the versatility of the monitor interface.

With the CONNECT module, you can stream live video to platforms using NDI or custom RTMP/S destinations. Specific enhancements for the Ninja Ultra include:

• SDICine for cinematic-style footage.
• Enhanced metadata support for richer data capture.
• RAW recording over SDI for professional-level production.
• Dual 4K60 ProRes RAW and 1080p60 H.265 dual recording codecs for versatile video recording.

Additionally, you can convert HDMI to SDI and SDI to HDMI video signals, making the CONNECT module a powerful tool for live productions and advanced video workflows.

SSD Recording

The Ninja Ultra supports direct recording onto Atomos Master Caddy II and Master Caddy III 2.5″ hard drive units, offering reliable storage for your footage. Additionally, you can record onto compact AtomX SSDmini drives for more portable storage solutions, or use CFAST II cards with a separately available adapter. This flexibility ensures that the Ninja Ultra can accommodate various storage options, making it ideal for different production needs, from on-location shoots to studio workflows.

Power Options

The Ninja Ultra offers versatile power options to keep your production running smoothly. It features an L-series battery plate on the back, compatible with NP-F L-series batteries that provide an output range of 5.8 to 7.2V. For more flexible power solutions, the USB-C port supports 30W PD power delivery, with the included cable for easy charging. Additionally, the dummy eliminator allows you to power the monitor via DC power sources, making it perfect for extended shoots or when access to rechargeable batteries is limited.

Control Options

The Ninja Ultra offers multiple control options for a seamless production experience. Multifunction control buttons work in conjunction with the touchscreen interface, providing intuitive onboard control. Auto HDMI camera trigger is supported for Canon and Sony cameras via the Atomos Open Standard, making camera control more accessible. For expanded control, you can unlock Bluetooth and RF-driven remote control with the optional CONNECT module. Additionally, LANC control and calibration are available through a separately available USB-C to serial connection cable, offering greater flexibility for controlling the system remotely.
