Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2
The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 is a compact Super35 cine-style camera from Blackmagic Design, offering a 6K S35 sensor, Gen 5 color science, and a range of recording features and dynamic range similar to the 6K Pro. It includes a 5″ tilting touchscreen LCD, Pro EVF, dual mini-XLR audio inputs, and NP-F570 L-series battery slot. While it eliminates the internal ND filters and reduces the LCD brightness compared to the 6K Pro, it provides a more affordable option for users to choose between two near-identical 6K models based on their specific needs.
Super35 Image Sensor & Dual Native ISO
The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 features a Super35 size sensor, capturing rich images with 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO settings of 400/3200 for low-light performance, expandable up to 25,600. It supports resolutions up to 6144 x 3456 at 60 fps, providing high-quality video for professional filmmaking.
Gen 5 Color Science
With Gen 5 color science, the 6K G2 delivers exceptional color accuracy, matching the 6K Pro and URSA Mini Pro 12K cameras. This makes it seamless to intercut footage from the 6K Pro, 6K, and BMPCC 4K models, ensuring a consistent look across your entire project.
Tilting 5″ LCD Touchscreen
The 5″ tilting HDR touchscreen LCD provides a clear view of your settings and footage, with the ability to adjust for optimal visibility. The tilt function is especially beneficial when shooting in high or low-angle positions, offering enhanced flexibility.
Mini-XLR Audio Inputs
Professional audio support includes two mini-XLR inputs with phantom +48V power. Additional audio features are a 3.5mm stereo input, headphone output, a built-in stereo microphone system, and a mono speaker for monitoring and playback.
Active Canon EF Mount
The Active Canon EF Mount allows compatibility with a wide range of Canon EF/EF-S-mount lenses. It enables electronic lens communication, providing control over iris, autofocus, and zoom with compatible lenses.
Up to 6K Shooting Resolutions
Capture in multiple resolutions, including:
- 6144 x 3456 (6K)
- 6144 x 2560 (6K 2.4:1)
- 5744 x 3024 (5.7K 17:9)
- 4096 x 2160 (4K DCI)
- 1920 x 1080 (HD)
Additionally, shoot in 2868 x 1512 (2.8K 17:9) and 1920 x 1080 (HD) at rates up to 120 fps for slow-motion capture.
Blackmagic Raw and ProRes Recording
Capture footage in Blackmagic Raw or ProRes 422 formats, depending on your project’s needs. Record to the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots, or use the full-size HDMI port to record to an ATEM Mini switcher for live streaming. For extended recording times, output via the USB Type-C port to an external SSD.
Bluetooth Camera Remote Control
Gain full control of your camera from up to 30 feet away via Bluetooth. Use the Blackmagic Camera Control app on your iPad or third-party apps like Bluetooth+ or Trigger on iOS and Android devices. This feature is perfect for hard-to-reach setups, such as boom or jib arm shots, or other challenging locations.
Horizontal or Vertical Capture
Effortlessly create cinematic vertical content for platforms like TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and others. The camera offers vertical aspect ratios such as 9:16 and 4:5, and the onscreen display rotates to ensure critical information like frame rate, shutter angle, and frame guides remain easily visible. Clips are automatically tagged as vertical for proper display in your timeline, and with direct export options, you can seamlessly upload content to TikTok and YouTube once editing is complete.
Studio Camera Features
Similar to Blackmagic Studio Cameras, the BMPCC 6K G2 includes a built-in color corrector that integrates seamlessly with the ATEM Mini for live productions. It also supports optional pedestal-style focus and zoom controls, providing enhanced precision for studio setups.
DaVinci Resolve Studio License Included
The BMPCC 6K G2 includes a DaVinci Resolve Studio activation key, providing access to professional-grade editing, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production tools at no additional cost.
