Tailored for vloggers, photographers, and content creators, the Shinobi II offers several enhancements over its predecessor. It features a sleek, slim design, a significantly brighter 1500 cd/m² display, and advanced USB-C camera control for Canon, Panasonic, Sony, and Z CAM with status indicators. The new AtomOS 11 interface, USB-C PD power I/O, and a locking HDMI and USB-C adapter add to its convenience. With updated image tools and ultra-low battery consumption, the Shinobi II provides all-day operation on a single battery.
Camera Control
The Atomos Shinobi II offers versatile camera control via its USB-C port, allowing seamless operation with the latest mirrorless and DSLR cameras from Canon, Panasonic, Sony, and Z CAM’s E2 line. Additionally, a 2.5mm LANC port on the side provides extra control compatibility.
Note: Future firmware updates will expand compatibility to include cameras from FUJIFILM, Nikon, OM System, and Sigma.
Camera Status
Monitor your camera’s internal record settings, battery status, and remaining recording time with the integrated camera status indicator on the Shinobi II. A red edge display activates to signal when the camera is recording internally, whether triggered by the camera itself or by the Shinobi II.
Input Signals
The Shinobi II features an HDMI 1.4 input that allows you to monitor signals in various resolutions and frame rates up to DCI/UHD 4K30 and up to 1080p60.
AtomOS 11 & Advanced Image Tools
The Shinobi II is equipped with the latest Atomos AtomOS 11, offering a host of new tools and features presented in a more intuitive and user-friendly layout. This update includes enhanced controls for adjusting your camera’s aperture, shutter speed/angle, and ISO. Utilize built-in exposure tools like false color, waveforms, zebras, and histograms to achieve precise exposure for every shot.
Brighter Display
The 5.2″ touchscreen display on the Shinobi II boasts a 50% increase in brightness compared to its predecessor, reaching a peak brightness of 1500 cd/m². This ensures clear visibility whether you’re shooting indoors or in bright sunlight.
Power Options
The Shinobi II offers versatile powering solutions to suit your needs:
- L-series/NP-F Style Battery: Use a compatible L-series or NP-F style battery for portable power.
- Battery Eliminator: For continuous power, use an optional battery eliminator (dummy battery) paired with a DC barrel to D-Tap cable.
- USB-C PD Charger: Power the monitor via a USB-C PD charger with a 10W input.
Additionally, you can charge or power your camera through the USB-C PD 13W output while utilizing the Shinobi II’s camera control features.
